Any really good player has several opening moves with at least 3-5 follow moves for each counter move of his opponent. I do tend to make the mistake and try something new and often its a fatal mistake. It's how I learn and how I hope the new players learn. And speaking of...its important for experience to hold the hands of the inexperienced and share a trick or two. I often find myself dumping on or two marbles to equal my newby opponent and try to encourage them to be aggressive or passive. On some rare occasions I loose to a newby just to boost moral. The future and continued success of Cestos depends on how we the experienced treat and help hone the skills of those just entering the arena.

I'm sure the peanut gallery will ridicule this but hey I really don't care. I've learned moves from some of the best players and refined them to be my own. I would expect the many new players to do the same. My final words?....

Karas, please don't take this the wrong way, but why is it that, in every single forum, there is evidence of ribbing, ball busting and just plain unfriendliness from you? You used to be so different and it actually took someone giving you sh*t or just being a douche to make you say things like this, which I could completely understand. But here, in strategies too? I thought this was a place where players came to get better, to learn from those who have experience that they do not...or to teach. I'll tell you one thing, aside from the actuall tips given by Wraith in the beginning of this thread (some of which he may or may not have learned from you), there's not much going on for the edification of the inexperienced. I've played a grip of the players that I know are true elites on this game (including you) and I can GUARANTEE that Wraith is right there and deserving of more respect (from you and and any other player, who's got the nerve to step up.) I'm not saying that Wraith is impossible to beat, just like you're not, but just like you, it's NEVER, EVER gonna be easy. Like I said, please don't take this the wrong way. Had you been the one giving some good tips and advice and Wraith just starting quoting you and taunting you with random bullsh*t, I would have said the same thing to him, though I doubt I'd ever have to because it's not in Wraith's nature and it's not the LOS way. I feel it reflects poorly upon E1Z, and the related tournament forums as well, when players get to see the same kind of thing go on forever in your tournament threads. Having an ax to grind with someone is all well and good, but nothings proven (not skill, not strength, and eventually not even wit) this way.



Ceb, I know there's already a miscellaneous forum, but I think it might be time we have one called Specifically For Talking sh*t. Then players can choose to waste their time with drama instead of having to bare it on a forum like this.

Also, since I allowed myself to fall into the vicious circle of chest beating, I may as well leave my two cents for any newbies that might read this. My tips: Try to win, but know that you'll eventually lose at some point. Be gracious in both victory and defeat. You earn respect by giving it and by kicking a$$, NOT by being a smart azzzz. As I know Karas IS actually a good sport, I'm sure he would be the first to agree.

Threads like this were indeed to help the newbies and yet instead of posting tips and ideas, an alleged elite player slammed ones given for nothing morning than a fruitless and counter productive personal attack. This does seem to set the stage for failure of a game when the one doing the slamming and who seems to be trying to promote membership by hosting tournaments does the exact opposite of the thread's true intention. It is unfortunate that the actions of one member of E1Z can drag down the rest of its members and into poorer light. With every bad and counter productive action is an opposite and equal bad and counter productive action.

Thanks brother, i appreciate the concurrence. I just like to say however, that I did not mean to imply that I have no respect for Karas, just so everyone knows. In fact, quite the opposite, in light of all that he and the rest of the folks at E1Z have done to revive tournament play on Cestos. Also, having been a student of both of you, and TRULY realizing what skillful players you BOTH are, my only wish is that each of you get the respect you deserve and that you both strive to be the best examples you can be for all of us. Other than that, I say take out your differences on a map in Cestos.
