cant hear sound while in game

Motorala droid. Have media and all other volume turned up all the way but I can't hear any sound while in game. I can hear music while in the menus and in lobby. Game also vibrates while playing. I have selected, unselected,reselected sound in options. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Had problem pior to android 2.1 patch and still have now.

did u "root" ur droid?? In other words installed a custom ROM into ur droid? (cyanogen MOD)

No just got the OTA update from verizon
