Classes overpowered? Ability cooldown too quick? Certain items too expensive?

Extra Class Ideas

Not sure what others think but 3 classes aren't really all the many, and to me the medium and light classes play just about the same, not taking into account their special abilities. I was thinking maybe a sniper class with very high damage and range but with a low rate of fire and low health. Also maybe a melee class with high hit points and medium speed who can only attack at very close range.

i was going to elaborate a little more, but then i realized that i was just typing out and reiterating what he said, so, i just agree :arrow:

We've got some plans for extra classes, just wanted to get 3 of them up and ready so we can later build on an existing base level of balance (balancing 4-5 classes against each other is much hard than 3) :)

We'd definitely love to hear suggestions what classes we could add, and particularly, suggestions on abilities for those classes.

Things we're debating (but still a long way off from starting)
1) Engineer - Builds turrets, and Vehicles
2) Spy - Short term invisibilty, and Walk-through walls. Needs to be extremely close, and behind a unit for kills (knife to the back)
3) Medic - Heals friends, <not sure what else>

Grenadier: A slow attacker with a grenade launcher, maybe make it ranged doing 100 dmg in a circular area. Abilities: Frag and Gas grenade.

Explosives expert: Short ranged character with a pistol (50 dmg, fast?) who uses mines that instantly kill one person, takes about 5 secs to plant a mine, 3 mines per max, if the person dies the mines disappear, and metal detector to see enemy mines on the field.

Maybe anything else?

Not saying its out of the question, however,
We've thought about mines, and are having a hard time deciding how they would be implemented.

If they're invisible all the time, people just randomly die (not fun), if they're invisible up until a certain point (so you could still turn away), this point becomes a hassle to manage. As people with low pings (wifi, and some on 3g) will see them, and be able to respond quicker. Where people on edge may see them, and not even be able to turn around in time. If they're shown early enough (from far enough away), you'll never kill anyone.

Again, not saying its not possible, just saying it becomes very difficult to design fairly :)

Excellent class ideas impact. The classes u mentioned should balance out well with the classes already in the game. Maybe other than healing the medic would give a slight attack stat boost to the allies around him? And of course he'll need some weak attack ability to make people play as him. Spy idea is great. These classes remind me a lot of the classes on the half life multiplayer game, of which the spy was my fav. However in light of your recent post regarding variable connection speeds it sounds as though u have your work cut out considering fairness.

Yeah, a lot of abilities depend on timing, and timing is something we can't rely on at all with Mobile devices, so we're trying to find fun/interesting classes to play that don't notice a delay in use (frag grenades will still hit, even if they're a slight bit late, etc)

I would enjoy seeing a bersrker type class with rage ability to raise stats for a limited time yet otherwise is between a light and medium. That would compliment the medic class idea very well I think. Medic could also have temporary cooldown disable and be between a medium and heavy.

I knw dis is old but wat da hey.

How bout jus a regular soldier but here's d kick he has high atk points but low defence points.

But when he dies he dosent :) he becomes a zombie for like 30 secs or 15 whatever n instead of high atk he'll have high defence.

Jus throwing ideas out there :)
